I actually think the in-episode music of the 1999 anime > 2011, however it sounds very very different because the animes actually are strikingly different in feel. They are both masterpieces in fact imo. I love the music in 1999 most, but the Hisoka theme from 2011 is one of the best character themes in film history imo.
